We're Back !

Been gone for a while. It's been a terrible summer, with no rain, 100 degree days, and the threat of fires, we just stayed indoors and prayed for rain. Even the dogs didn't want to go out for long. A little rain gives us hope.

We finally got rain last night. What a blessing!

Happy Birthday !

Eli's Birthday party was the social event of the season. The birthday boy enjoyed the
water slide, pinata, and many other fun things. And didn't poop out in 3 hours ( a major
feat in it's own self). Yea, Eli. Many happy moments to come, and this is only the first.

 it was hard to find a clean place on 'em.

Fresh New Porch

When I started out painting this morning, it was cool. Nice breeze.

But I took a break at lunch and....Holy  Moley..the sun took over.

You've never seen me paint so fast. It's back to being cool now. What do you think?  A nice place for a cool drink.

Eli's Rat Wagon

Our latest project. A "Rat" wagon for Eli, our grandson. To match his Dad's '54 Chevy. Special red suspension, black primer body, aftermarket tires and wheels. Very fast.

Valentine Cookies

Pretty Valentine cookies. They are soft, a little like eating Birthday cake. Yum. Wish I could say I made 'em. Thanks, Walmart.

Brrrrr !!

I slept too late to record the real low yesterday which was 12. Just couldn't get myself out of bed with all the covers and Pat and both dogs all snuggled in.

Cold Winter Days Project

While painting some trim in my guest bath, I decided to paint the floor too.

It was just pine planks. Two coats later and it looks totally different.




 




Had to add a really "girly" chandelier made from an old lampshade frame .



Little Valentine Lights

Saw these cute baking cups at Walmart today and when I got the home, I thought they looked like mini lampshades. OMG! Great idea. I had some little white Christmas lights in a set of 20 so I just cut a slit in the bottom of the cups and slid them on. Perfect. I've been checking on them all evening and they are not hot at all so no fire danger. I'm thinking that I just might try some pastels for spring. I may have created a monster. I'll be on the hunt for baking cups from now on. 

Rainy Saturday

The only plants in my yard that are not frozen.

What a lazy Saturday afternoon. Too rainy and cold to anything but eat macaroni and cheese and take a nap. I'm sure there will be more productive days to come. Yawn. Yawn.

New Year

Kind of miss all the Christmas things, although it's good to get them put away. A new year always means a clean start to me. Hope and inspiration for the next 12 months.
