Memorial Day

After working on several yard projects we are tired. The HH and I are taking a few days off to rest. These projects seem to take a bigger toll on both of us than they used to. Wonder why??  Well, we are kicking back at home this weekend to enjoy all our labors and be thankful for all God has given us. Most of all for the ones who have given their all for us in this country. We will never forget.

I'm still here

Yes, I'm still here. Got our plumbing problems solved, but are still getting the yard back to normal. Got to plant grass over the bald spots and repair the flower beds and get all the rocks back where they belong. So, I've been working outside a LOT. Can't complain too much though. Our weather has been nothing short of spectacular. Beautiful sunny 80 degree days and cool evenings. No wonder the wildflowers have lasted so long. I still have bluebonnets blooming!
More garden pics to come. Now out I go to do more garden stuff.

Really fun project

This is what we've been doing this week. Digging up the back yard to make sewer repairs. Yikes!! Well, it could always be worse. It could be 100 degrees or 30 degrees. Anyway, it's not a fun project at all.

The wildflowers are truely beautiful this spring. Lady Bird Johnson must be smiling down from heaven this lovely day. These are in my front yard!! I am blessed!

Kitchen Springtime

These are the beautiful Iris blooms my sweet friend, Cindy brought me. Don't have any in my garden. Guess I should grow some. They remind me of orchids. Thanks so much, Cindy.

First Bluebonnets

Nothing means spring in Texas like bluebonnets. These are in my front garden. Last year was such a bad year for wildflowers because of the drought, but this spring promises to be really great. These are just my first blooms, I'v got more to come.

Was in the twilight zone for the last week. I didn't do any of my regular routine. Grandson, Trey was here for Spring Break all week, jury duty one day, then my daughter Holly and granddaughter Harley came for the weekend. Enjoyed every minute (except maybe the jury duty). Don't get to see them as often as I'd like so it was really a treat for us.
